    This module introduces the key activities for launching a BCMS implementation, including defining scope, obtaining leadership commitment, and establishing governance.

  • Introduction to PECB's IMS2 Methodology

    Participants are introduced to the IMS2 Methodology as a structured approach to guiding BCMS implementation projects from initiation through to certification readiness.

  • • Identify leadership and governance activities needed to launch an ISO 22301 project

Day 2Implementation Plan of a BCMS

    Participants learn how to analyse the organisational context, identify interested party requirements, and conduct a business continuity risk assessment aligned with ISO 22301.

  • Business Impact Analysis and Strategy Selection

    This module covers how to perform a business impact analysis and select continuity strategies that address prioritised activities and acceptable recovery objectives.

  • Planning Documentation and Objectives

    Participants practise drafting the planning documentation required by ISO 22301, including business continuity objectives and plans for achieving them.

  • Certification and examination fees are included in the price of the training course
  • Participants will be provided with the training course material containing over 450 pages of explanatory information, examples, best practices, exercises, and quizzes.
  • An attestation of course completion worth 31 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits will be issued to the participants who have attended the training course.
  • In case candidates fail the exam, they can retake it within 12 months following the initial attempt for free.

Does completing the five-day training course mean I am a certified Lead Implementer?+

Completing the training results in an attestation of course completion, which recognises participation in the programme. This is distinct from the PECB Lead Implementer credential.

The credential is awarded by PECB only after a candidate passes the exam and successfully applies for certification, demonstrating that all requirements in PECB's Certification Rules and Policies are met.

How does the Lead Implementer course differ from the Lead Auditor course?+

The Lead Implementer course focuses on building, operating, and improving a BCMS within an organisation, using PECB's IMS2 Methodology and ISO 22301 as the guiding framework.

The Lead Auditor course, by contrast, develops the skills needed to plan, conduct, and manage independent audits of a BCMS against ISO 22301 requirements, in line with ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ISO 19011.

What background knowledge is recommended before attending this course?+

Participants are expected to have a foundational understanding of business continuity concepts and principles. Those without this background may wish to complete the ISO 22301 Foundation course beforehand.

While no formal prerequisites are enforced, arriving with a working familiarity with BCMS terminology will allow participants to engage more effectively with the implementation-focused content from the first day.
