Buyers always ask

What is the difference between completing the training and obtaining the PECB certificate?+

Completing the two-day training course means you have attended all sessions and received the instructional materials. It does not, by itself, award a certificate.

To obtain the 'PECB Certificate Holder in ISO 9001 Foundation' credential, you must separately sit and pass the PECB examination, then submit a certificate application to PECB. Training completion, passing the exam, and applying for the certificate are three distinct steps.

What topics does the PECB ISO 9001 Foundation examination cover?+

The examination is structured around two competency domains: Domain 1 covers fundamental concepts and principles of quality management and a QMS based on ISO 9001, and Domain 2 covers the ISO 9001 requirements for a QMS from Clauses 4 to 10.

For details on exam format, available languages, and scheduling, refer to the PECB List of Exams and the Examination Rules and Policies on the PECB website.

Do I need prior quality management experience to attend this course?+

No prior professional experience or management system project experience is required to attend this training course. It is designed as an entry-level introduction suitable for anyone wanting to understand ISO 9001 and quality management fundamentals.

Is this course a good fit if I already work as a QMS implementer or auditor?+

This foundation course is aimed at awareness and introductory understanding rather than practitioner skills. If you already implement or audit QMS, you are likely to find the ISO 9001 Lead Implementer or ISO 9001 Lead Auditor programmes more appropriate for your development needs.

What study materials are provided during the course?+

According to PECB, participants receive over 200 pages of instructional materials that include explanations, guidance, and practical examples to support learning during and after the course.
