How cancellations, returns and refunds work across live cohorts, self-paced courses, 1:1 coaching and in-house programmes. Statutory rights plus our own commercial conditions, laid out clearly.

This policy explains how cancellations, returns and refunds work for purchases on cyberacademy.net. It applies to live cohorts, self-paced courses, 1:1 coaching, in-house programmes and any service delivered by Cyber Academy (operated by Bodhi Production SL, Spain).

The policy is offered in addition to statutory rights under Spanish and EU consumer law and does not limit them.

1. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Live cohorts (instructor-led, on-site or virtual classroom).
  • Self-paced courses.
  • 1:1 private coaching sessions.
  • In-house and intra-company training programmes.
  • Certification packs sold separately or bundled with training.

It does not apply to:

  • Free resources (newsletters, lead magnets, webinars).
  • Third-party content or services purchased outside cyberacademy.net.
  • The PECB Certification or Refund Guarantee, which is a separate commercial guarantee covered in its own policy page.

2. Statutory cooling-off period

Under Spanish and EU consumer law, individual consumers (B2C) have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase, with the following caveats.

  • For live cohorts, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the cohort has started, in line with Article 103(m) of the Spanish General Law for the Defence of Consumers and Users.
  • For self-paced courses, the right of withdrawal does not apply once you have started consuming the content (logging in, downloading materials, starting a lesson), because the digital service has begun with your express consent.
  • For 1:1 coaching, the right of withdrawal applies up to the date scheduled for the first session, and not after.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, send an email to [email protected] within the 14-day window with your full name, order reference and a clear statement of withdrawal.

3. Live cohort cancellations

For live cohorts (on-site or virtual classroom), the following commercial conditions apply on top of statutory rights.

Cancellation by you

  • More than 14 calendar days before the cohort start date: full refund of the training fee, minus payment processor fees (typically 1.5% to 3%).
  • Between 14 and 7 calendar days before the start date: 50% refund of the training fee, or full credit toward a future cohort within 12 months.
  • Less than 7 calendar days before the start date, or after the cohort has started: no refund. A credit toward a future cohort may be granted on a case-by-case basis, at our discretion.

Cancellation by us

If we cancel a cohort (insufficient attendance, force majeure, trainer unavailable), you receive:

  • A full refund of the training fee, with no deduction, or
  • A free transfer to the next equivalent cohort, at your choice.

We notify cancellation as early as possible and at least 5 calendar days before the start date when feasible.

4. Self-paced courses

For self-paced courses, the following applies.

  • Before you access any content: full refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • After you have accessed any content (login, download, lesson started): no refund. The digital service is considered delivered. You keep lifetime access to the content you purchased.
  • If a technical issue prevents you from accessing the content you purchased, contact [email protected]. We will fix the access or, if unable to, refund the purchase.

5. 1:1 coaching

For 1:1 private coaching, the following applies.

  • More than 7 calendar days before the first scheduled session: full refund, minus payment processor fees.
  • Between 7 and 2 calendar days before the first session: 50% refund or full rescheduling at no cost (one reschedule allowed).
  • Less than 2 calendar days before the first session, or after the session has started: no refund.

If we need to cancel or reschedule a session, we offer a free reschedule or a full refund at your choice.

6. In-house and intra-company programmes

For in-house and intra-company programmes, the conditions are defined in the signed proposal or contract and supersede the conditions above. Typical terms:

  • 30 calendar days notice for cancellation without penalty.
  • Between 30 and 14 days: 50% of the contracted fee due.
  • Less than 14 days, or after delivery has started: 100% of the contracted fee due.

Specific clauses (multi-cohort programmes, framework agreements) are written into the proposal.

7. Certification packs and exam fees

Certification packs include third-party fixed costs (PECB or ISACA licensing, exam attempts, official materials). These costs are non-refundable in all cases, because they are paid out to the certification body on your behalf at booking.

If a refund is granted on the training portion, it applies to the training fee only. The certification pack stays with you and you retain access to PECB or ISACA materials, exam attempts and credentials according to the certification body's own rules.

8. How to request a refund

To request a refund:

  • Send an email to [email protected] with:
    • Your full name.
    • The order reference or invoice number.
    • The course or programme concerned.
    • The reason for the refund request.
  • We confirm receipt within 1 business day and process eligible refunds within 7 calendar days of approval.
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method when possible. If the original method cannot be used, we agree on a reasonable alternative (bank transfer).
